me, meg, men, ben, etc
shingirmingir = the nickname given me by one of my best friends – elif kardes; definition: turkish word for the sound jewellery make //I love it when my hair gets wet in the rain. I enjoy everything about rain; the feeling, the smell, the sound of it, and of course the look of raindrops falling down and…kind of exploding, you know? // I love the feeling right before I get drunk // I love it when I can’t sleep the night before a date with someone special // I love it when I can’t take my eyes off of someone or something // I love my definition of perfect. Well, I know I used to, I am not sure in the moment // I love it when I meet a guy I want to tell everything to. Doesn’t happen very often though. And it doesn’t mean that I tell him everything // I am superstitious // I love indie rock and jazz // There are some strangers I’ll never forget. To name a few… The musician from London. The writer in Ankara. The businessman who offered to give (yes, just give!) me his umbrella a rainy morning in New York. The sales guy in New York. The gipsy who yelled at me in the middle of the street in Ankara // I love “keepers” // I love m&m’s // I like to read poems by Emily Dickinson loud when no one is around. But never my own poems // I love playing chess with my dad // I love people who accept my silence without feeling awkward about it. // I love it when I receive a call or text message the second I think of someone // I love handwritten letters // I love notebooks // I love it when I feel things I cannot explain // I have collected postcards since I was a child // I miss being 18 // I want “Joga” by Björk to make sense. // I love the autumn light on autumn leaves // I love sitting on the floor in the middle of a gallery // I am addicted to magazines // If possible, I always drink my tea from a Turkish tea glass // I love the smell of coffee // I love the bitter sweet taste of coffee // If I had met Atatürk, I know I would have fallen in love with him // Once in a while I like to spend the entire weekend at home watching movies by myself // A friend of mine claims that I enjoy the pain of being lonely, I know I don’t, but I have to admit that I like the expression because I believe in the beauty of pain // Mike made me think of the fact that I never kill spiders. I never kill ants either. I try not to kill anything. I killed a spider last summer, went to sleep, had nightmares about it and freaked out when I saw it alive (!) the next morning // I wish I was a vegetarian // I believe in marriage // I like the sound of my mom preparing Turkish tea for breakfast on Sundays // I am a typical scorpio // I am (usually) addicted to write in my diary // I don’t belong anywhere //I feel lost most of the time – in a good/bad way // New York is the only place in the world I have felt at home // I love the expression “disarming man”
I read through a little of your blog. I like your use of words. Also, it was no surprise where you wrote you are “a typical scorpio”, your writing screams it.
Thank you for leaving the note on my blog. Your link back did not work but I’m glad I found you. I like your words, your thoughts, your observations, what I can sense of your sense of beauty. I identify strongly with a lot of what you have to say. I’ll add you to my blogroll and visit again.
